Someone over at BSA Supply fell down on the Job – apparently the June emblems aren’t available yet here in late April, so I guess it goes to show, sometimes even National fails to “Be Prepared!”

June’s Cub theme is “A Camping We Will Go!

It encourages Cub Scout packs to get out and explore the outdoors. As school is ending and the weather in Wisconsin is FINALLY getting nice make sure your boys create memories in the great outdoors and not just inside playing video games. Start early in the summer taking your Scouts on hikes and scavenger hunts ~ don’t forget to talk about Leave No Trace and following the Buddy System! Its important that they don’t hurt nature or themselves.

For Boy Scouts June means the start of freedom. Maybe being old enough to stay home alone while Mom & Dad are at work, or starting a new job and having money of one’s own. As boys get older, let them practice their leadership skills teaching younger Scouts how to have a successful and fun time camping out themselves!

Here in the Fox River District we’re blessed with lots of great nearby camping facilities. Consider bringing your unit to OhDaKoTa, Wadewitz (formerly KaHaGon now a Racine County park in Waterford) or Sol-R-Crown (owned by the Northeast Illinois Council) – all very Scout friendly facilities and located HERE in our district!

And don’t forget to check the EVENTS page on this website for information on Trailblazer Adventure Day held at ODKT and Scouting the Zoo held at the Milwaukee County Zoo – both the weekend of June 5-7th.
