Thanks to all of our leaders who have recently become “TRAINED!” The more you know, the stronger we all become!

“TRAINED” involves several things:

  1. completion of the online “fast start” program for your position found at myscouting.org
  2. completion of the online “youth protection” course found at myscouting.org
  3. one-time completion of New Leader Essentials (pre-2009) or This is Scouting (post-2008) [EDIT: found at myscouting.org]
  4. level specific training (Tiger, Cub Scout, Webelos, CubMaster, Committee)
  5. *Webelos leaders are strongly encouraged to take OWL – Outdoor Webelos Leader in the spring

Not only do you help us deliver a better program to our Youth, but you help us meet goals for trained leadership that help our Pack become a “Centennial Quality Unit.”

Three basic training (level specific) opportunities are coming up in the next few weeks.

The first will be held in Waukesha:

Monday October 26th, 2009
6 pm-9:30 pm, ESITEC office,
1915 MacArthur Road Waukesha 53188

The second will be held in Racine:

It will be Nov 3 & 10 (Tuesdays) at the First Presbyterian Church, 6:30 – 9:00 PM.
[EDIT: You need to attend both sessions.]  Take Hy 20 East, almost all the way to the lake.  The church is at the corner of 7th St and College Ave, just west of the Court House.  Turn right on College and park in the lot just south of the church, enter at the side entrance.  I would allow 20 minutes from I-94 and 20 to the church.

The third will be held in Waukesha County.

Potawatomi Council will hold a Pow Wow at the Merton Intermediate School on Saturday November 14. (Merton is between Pewaukee & Hartland in Waukesha County and can be reached via Hwy 164 or Hwy 83.) While Basic Training is offered, there are also many other courses available for you to take that will enhance and help make your Scouting experience even more enjoyable! Information is available on the Potawatomi Council Website at www.pacbsa.org
