You don’t turn 100 very often, so in clelebration of BSA’s 100th birthday the US Mint has announced its designs for a legal tender $1 silver coin depicting the Boy Scouts of America.

You probably won’t find any of these in circulation however. While they are legal tender, at least $10 of the purchase of each $1 coin will go back to support the Boy Scouts of America!

Only 350,000 of them can be minted. Sound like a lot? There are over 4,000,000 currently registered youth and adult Boy Scouts registered today! (Figure cited from Wikipedia) How many of those young men do you think are working on the Coin Collecting Merit Badge?
