Today was the last day of school for the year. It always strikes me as funny how eager the kids are to get out of school, and then excited when they get to go back again.

There is some nugget of wisdom in that somewhere.

How great does it feel to get to go on a big trip, only to be rivaled by the joy of getting to come home and sleep in your own bed once again?

But for the next few days the excitement will be at an all time high! After all, it’s CHRISTMAS!

Keep Christ in Christmas!

May the New Year find you an even better person than you were in the old. I hope that you enjoy your journeys as much as the destinations. When your Scouts look up to you with respect and admiration, I hope you return a gaze of kindness and patience.

My wish for you is that you look toward every day in 2010 and the great potential each one holds, like each day is Christmas!

From camping outings to Scoutcraft meetings, keep that twinkle and wonder in your eye.

May the hand of God guide you as you touch the lives of our youth. Thank you for all that you do!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
