Are you looking to put more ADVENTURE in your Troop or Crew’s program?*

Maybe you’re not sure what it is like to rock climb, whitewater raft, or go on a pistol range and just want to give it a try. Powder Horn is the course for you! You’ll don SCUBA gear, go horseback riding and probably even learn a bit more about how to deal with the teenagers and young adults that you are working with in a positive and uplifting way.

My brother Bob, now a commissioner for a Crew, a Troop and 3 Packs in Milwaukee County Council, attended this course a few years ago and said that it was one of the most life changing and inspirational Scout trainings he had ever been to. Seeing the pictures and stories he brought back, I have to agree that this will be an AMAZING experience for those who go!

This year’s course will be hosted by both Glacier’s Edge and Bay Lakes at two of Wisconsin’s most outstanding Scouting facilities: Camp Indian Trails and Gardner Dam Scout Camp. This is about as close to SEWISBSA that this course will be offered! It will be held this year from May 14-16 and from June 4-6 – attendance at BOTH sessions is required.

*Powder Horn uses experiential learning to have you participate in each of these activities, under the supervision of highly trained counselors. The purpose of this course is not to certify you to be a counselor for any activity, but to show you how to participate safely and find the appropriate resources for your youth. It’s a great place to try so you know what to expect, before you sign your Troop or Crew up for an activity.
