The Racine County Office of Emergency Management will sponsor a series of community readiness seminars that will cover topics such as individual and family preparedness, developing a home emergency plan, pet/service animal preparedness, Rx for readiness, going off grid: utility outages, fire safety and severe weather awareness. Participants who complete the four part series will receive a certificate of completion.

The first seminar will be held be Monday, February 20, 2012 from 6:00 pm- 8:30 pm at the Center for Advanced Technology and Innovation (CATI),2320 Renaissance Blvd (County Trunk Highway H), Sturtevant. Topics will include developing a communications plan, establishing a personal support network, planning for and practicing an evacuation, staying safe when evacuation is not an option and practicing your disaster plan.

The program is open to the public and there is no charge to attend. However, pre-registration is necessary by contacting Racine County Emergency Management at 262.636.3513.
