Boater Safety Class

The Town of Waterford Police Department will host a Boater Safety Class June 21-23, 2012 at the Waterford Town Hall. Preregistration is required, but the cost of the class is only $10.

A boater safety class is required for anyone born after 1988 to legally operate a boat or personal watercraft. Besides a citation, not taking a boater safety class can have serious consequences. According to U.S. Coast Guard statistics, nearly four out of five people killed by Wisconsin boating accidents did not take a formal boater safety class.

Boater Safety is the first step toward earning your Motorboating Merit Badge. You will also need to pass your BSA Swim Test.
