In 2010 the Boy Scouts of America began requiring that all registered leaders be Youth Protection Trained. This certification is good for 2 years.

That means that many leaders who took Youth Protection Training so that their units could recharter in January 2011 will be expiring NOW in advance of our January 2013 recharter. Leaders without current YPT training will not be allowed to recharter. If these adults hold key positions in your Pack, Troop or Crew, your unit will not be allowed to recharter. Our goal is to have all Fox River District units recharter ON TIME.

Please review your leadership as soon as possible. This can be done by logging in on and then searching the e-Learning validation area. We suggest a unit leader such as CM/SM, CC or Trainer check all registered leaders for the entire unit. You can do this by entering email addresses or BSA IDs. Training must expire AFTER recharter – we suggest that anyone with YPT training that expires before June 2013 retake the class online.

Fox River District recharters each January. To give units time to complete paperwork, we start this process in November (now). This will also give your leadership time to update their training records. If you have ANY problems, please contact Margaret Williams or Glen Bordak.
