Are you familiar with Exploring? It is the portion of the Boy Scouts of America (Learning for Life) that looks at career exploration with young men and women ages 14 to 21.

Posts are organized around one of 16 career clusters. There are Air Explorers, Fire and Police Explorer Posts, and even Robotics and Rocketry teams that meet as Explorers.

But as of August 1st, 2013 Exploring is coming to the Middle School level. These co-ed programs are open to all boys and girls in grades 6 through 8, starting as young as 10 years old. Middle School Explorer Posts can even change their focus throughout the year as part of a STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts and Science) focused program working and learning about different careers each month.

Check out this FAQ sheet and ask yourself if starting a Middle School based Exploring Post might be the right choice for you!
