The outside grounds of EAA Chapter 838 located at the Batten International Airport in Racine will be used for a fund raiser on November 8th-9th. Racine’s Homeless Center, HALO, will be sponsoring a “Sleep Out for HALO” from Friday night at 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning.

  • All young people are welcome to participate.
  • Youth (12 and older) will sleep under the stars with approved chaperones, we will have medication available here for those who have trouble sleeping, so that they are able to join us as well.
  • All youth will be given a box, t-shirt, snack and a journal to document the experience of sleeping out overnight in a simulation of what is is like to be homeless – all while being in a secure environment.
  • Each participant is asked to obtain $200 in pledges, and HALO is planning on having 200 youth and chaperones!
  • The Racine Police department plans to have three police officers on site throughout the night.

Contact Ken or Dorothy Sack, Committee Chair, at (262) 554-9714 if you would like to participate or sponsor the event
