Get ready to log in to your favorite social media channels and blow up your friends’ social feeds because starting today, you can invite non-Scouting friends to join the adventures of Scouting using a new Cub Scout hashtag #ShareScouting. We challenge you to #ShareScouting by inviting and bringing a friend to your Pack in September and throughout recruiting season!

What makes this hashtag cool? Well other than the fact that everyone loves a good hashtag, this new social media campaign will help bolster Cub Scout recruitment just in time for fall! This hashtag captures the attention of new parents and families that have yet to have anyone in the family involved in Scouting and will boost excitement about growing local Packs.

Scouters, Cub Scout families and fans of Cub Scouting on social media are encouraged to bring a friend to a Scout Night or other Scouting activity and then post photos of Cub Scouts and their friends having a blast on their personal channels. Head to your Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts and upload a photo with the hashtag #ShareScouting.

What’s more, by adding #ShareScouting to your photos you’ll enter into the #ShareScouting photo contest running across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, and you can check out albums on Facebook full of #ShareScouting photos from Packs across the country. Plus you can engage with other Scouts, volunteers and fans of Cub Scouting on what works best for their Packs during recruitment season.

Jump on your social media accounts now and share the story of Scouting using #ShareScouting, and tell us in the comments how you use social media for Cub Scout recruitment in your council!
