New Council Website

Earlier this week the new Three Harbors Council website went live! This site has been a great undertaking. Nearly 150 volunteers have given input, shared information, helped with research and provided feedback.

The old websites from Milwaukee and Southeast Councils have been taken down. You can always find the link to the council website right here – on the right side of every FoxRiverBSA webpage!

Spring has come to Pringle

Things are blooming and coming back here at Pringle. We’re keeping our eye out for the Mallards that have stayed at the pond longer than they normally do, hopefully we will see ducklings on the pond this year. Many things bloomed earlier than normal; hopefully there will be some flowers to see on our annual Mother’s Day Ephemeral Brunch and Wildflower walk this year!! The Bluebirds also laid more first brood eggs this year. We were hoping for more boxes to be occupied with Bluebirds this year, but the same one’s that were occupied last year are in use this year.

Don’t forget about summer camp! Summer camp registration can be found here. Completed registration and payment are due the Friday before the program by either stopping in or mail. Plant Exchange Saturday, May 26th, 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Teacher Appreciation Week May 7-11

Did you know that the Girl Scouts celebrate Girl Scout Leader Appreciation Day? (It was just on April 22, 2012.) And hopefully you saw Ed Brandon’s note about Volunteer Appreciation Week April 15-21 last week.

Well, Teacher Appreciation Week is May 7-11, 2012, and it would be a great time to say thanks to the teachers we appreciate the most – our Scout Leaders! if you haven’t already recognized them already.

With long hours, no pay, and away from their own families our Scoutmasters and other leaders give a lot of themselves to help Boy Scouts grow into the great young men we know they can be. So don’t forget all of your favorite teachers, and to all of you Leaders out there – THANKS!

Mount Olympus Family Fun Days (JUST $6!)

Saturday April 28, 2012 will be our Pack’s THIRD* Annual Family Fun Day at Mount Olympus Water and Theme Park in Wisconsin Dells. We LOVE going, and Mount Olympus loves our Scouts!

In fact, for our Family Fun Day we get $6 admissions! You can’t beat that price – a family of 4 can attend for about the normal price for 1!

Admission is open to ANYONE who wants to join us – so I’m inviting you, our Fox River friends! Cubs, Crews and all the Troops in between – we would love to see you in Wisconsin Dells on April 28. Heck, I don’t care what district or council you’re in – if you’re reading this website you’re invited!

No preregistration is necessary! Just show up at the door and let them know you’re with Pack 323 in Waterford. (It’s OK – we won’t make you hang out with us!)

Just $6 gets you all day admission to the indoor waterpark and indoor theme park, as well as any outdoor attractions that happen to be open in late April. Last year two roller coasters and several of the go-cart tracks were open.

Don’t worry about it being too crowded – there is a LOT of room – and not that many readers of the Fox River District website. We had about 100 people at our party last year and we could have had 10 times that many without an issue.

Check out the flyer, and bring your friends too! It’s going to be a GREAT time in the Dells! And if you come, don’t forget to find me and say HI!

(* OK, the first year it was my son’s birthday party – but his friends were all Scouts and it seemed like a great tradition so we’re keeping it up!)
