Food bags will be hung on the front doors handles of homes
On Saturday, March 23, 2013, Scouts will collect the food bags from the front porches of residents’ homes. The collection will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will end at 12:00 noon. In addition, there will be Scouts accepting donations of non-perishable food items outside several major grocery stores throughout our area. The collected food items will then be delivered to these food pantries that serve the needy. These pantries are for Kenosha and Racine Counties only. Our goal is to collect well over 250,000 items. If the bag left on your doorstep is mistakenly not picked up it can be dropped off directly to a pantry listed below, meanwhile the Milwaukee area Districts deliver their food to Feeding America.
The Three Harbors Properties Committee is currently seeking Adults and older Scouts to help form an interest group of willing and able volunteers to maintain beautiful Camp Oh-Da-Ko-Ta.
We are seeking carpenters, electricians, laborers, and anyone who can put their heart into helping maintain the beautiful camp that our kids enjoy. Your skill level is less important than your willingness to help improve the camp.
We will be working on camp improvement projects suggested by the Properties Committee and we want your suggestions for camp improvements as well. We know our Ranger works hard and remember he is working alone.
Initially, we are asking you to assist with one or two work days per year. If this group is interested, we could hold more work days or hold work weekends in the future. Maintenance work days or work weekends will be planned co-operatively between volunteers to adjust to your schedules.
Want to give back to the camps? Here’s your way how! We are only seeking those interested at this time and there is no commitment by showing your interest.
If you are or know someone interested in pursuing this option please contact Bryan Hoff at email@example.com to have your name forwarded to the Properties Committee.
