The BSA Goes Digital

The Boy Scouts of America is in the process of making its merit badge pamphlets available for purchase on Amazon’s Kindle platform.

That means you’ll be able to download the pamphlets (and other official BSA books) on any Kindle device, or through any of the free Kindle reader apps available for computers and portable devices such as iPods, iPhones and iPads.

All of the Eagle-required merit badges except for Citizenship in the World and Sustainability are already available. Of course the Digital Technology pamphlet is already available, as is Robotics.

The BSA will continue to add titles to the digital format in the weeks and months to come.

Click here to view all of the available books. And of course while purchasing ANYTHING on Amazon, please don’t forget to log into Amazon’s SMILE program so that Three Harbors Council will receive ½ of 1% back toward supporting Scouting right here at home.

Click here for more information on the BSA’s venture into digital publishing.

You must pre-register, about a week ahead of each program. Program cost is just $4 per Scout – a tremendous value for a great program.

Mad Science Discovery for Special Needs Scouts

One of the greatest experiences a Scout can have is the experience of going to camp. That is why Bay-Lakes Council is proud to announce the annual “Discovery Weekend for Special Needs Scouts!”

This is a great opportunity for Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venture Scouts with any type of disability to discover the traditional Scout skills of arts & crafts, archery, cooking, and campfires! Scouts will stay in the heated themed buildings of Camp Rokilio (near Kiel – about an hour north of Milwaukee) and enjoy the beautiful fall weather as they explore all that camp has to offer.

Boy Scouts will be on staff to help teach new skills as well as help caregivers. Most Scouts will arrive Saturday morning, but they do have the option of arriving Friday night to help ease yourself into the camp lifestyle.
