Kanwa tho Lodge mourns the passing of two beloved Scouters. Bill Cobb, a retired member of the legacy Milwaukee County Council, was laid to rest earlier this month. Bill was a decorated WWII veteran. Bill became an Ordeal member in 1959, Brotherhood in 1960, and was recognized with the Vigil Honor in 1962. His Vigil name is Ami Gan, which is translated to mean "Long Nose". George Fix passed away yesterday. A longtime stalwart of the Order of the Arrow and a mainstay at Indian Mound Scout Reservation, George was a decorated Korean War veteran. George was the Mikano Lodge Adviser from 1984 - 87. He was recognized with the Honored Scouter award in 1983 and the Founder's Award in 1987. In 1997, he compiled a book about the first 80 years of IMR history. George completed his Ordeal in 1946, Brotherhood in 1948, and was selected for the Vigil Honor in 1981. His Vigil name is Atschimolsin, which is translated to mean "Counselor". George was a regular attendee of lodge events. This is a picture of George with then Kanwa tho Lodge Chief Tyler W taken at the 2013 Spring Conclave. Both of these men served their fellows with great distinction.
