Roundtables are held on the first Thursday of each month unless they fall on an observed holiday. The Fox River Roundtable is held in the meeting hall at Cross Lutheran Church, located on the East side of Burlington just off Highway 11. Fellowship begins at 6:30pm, with Roundtable beginning at 7:00pm. Roundtable usually lasts about 90 minutes.
Cub Scout, Boy Scout and Venturing Leaders are all strongly encouraged to attend! At the very least, every unit should have a representative at Roundtable, but we hope every Scouter will plan to attend! Attending at least 4 Roundtables or a University of Scouting in the year is one of the requirements to earn your leadership knot.
After announcements, Cub Leaders and Scout Leaders split into two groups to talk about age appropriate activities. This is the best place to interact with our “Key 3” and find out what is happening in the Fox River District!
- There is a Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner: Norbert Paul
- Jeremy Laffin assists.
- There is a Boy Scout Roundtable Commissioner: Currently OPEN
- Both report to our District Commissioner: Glen Bordak
You can find most of this month’s handouts on the handouts page!
The BSA posts guides and materials for conducting Roundtable on it’s website, similar to Program Helps.
At our September 2015 Roundtable, Glen Bordak shared the following tips for recruiting new leaders that he compiled.
