A brief history, and positions. This page is waiting for a Troop Historian to look after it and make it happy.
Troop 300 formed in December 2012.
There are currently three patrols.
Graeme is the Senior Patrol Leader.
Christian is the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader.
Keith Klima is the Scoutmaster.
Our Troop has adopted Racine County’s Wadewitz Nature Park as its home base. This was a former Boy Scout camp until 1971 for the Racine County Council when it merged with Kenosha County Council to form the Southeast Wisconsin Council. In 2010 Southeast merged with Milwaukee County to form the Three Harbors Council. Robert Wadewitz originally donated the land to the Boy Scouts so it was renamed after him when it became a County Park.
A fireplace at the entry still proudly displays “KAHAGON” at the entrance to the park, and we still refer to it by that name. Kahagon means “of the trees” in Ojibwe, and the park boasts beautiful wooded trails through gentle hills which are used year round for walking and hiking in the summer, and cross country skiing in the winter. A few artifacts of the park’s former life still exist in the well pumps, Adirondack camping sites, and a long abandoned concrete standard for a flag pole.
